Blog 15: Digipak and Magazine Advert
A digiak typically consist of a folder like paper/cardboard pattern of which folds from separate panels to the CD case for your artists album. This would also include one or more plastic trays that can be capable of actually holding the CD in place while the rest of the digipak space would be used on general design and the presentation of other information. This is a better solution of a CD holder than the standard plastic hinged flip out case.
A digipak would include:
- Photographs/ Pictures of the artist or band that have made the album.
- A trick list including the song writing credits
- A disc impression panel where the disc would go on the digipak
- An information section on the band or other musicians if they were used in the recording process
- Barcode, QR, and logo of the record company
- And possibly other references to other work/ albums that the artist or band has done before this.
Here Are Some Examples of Digipak Covers and What I Think of Them:
- Very bright background color, eye catching.
- Text used is reflective of old school electronics, computers, technical, very retro.
- Cartoon style drawing, unique, trendy, different to other album covers.
- very bright colors used throughout the cover, eye catching and very happy looking.
- School theme, relate-able
- Very weird, unexpected, quirky, original
- formal appearance, suit, tie
- deer head, doesn't make sense
- black and white filter, reflects sadness, bland, no vibrant colors or emotions.
- Text is messy and hard to read

Freddie! You must add a post that investigates the relationship between digipak design and magazine design. Find a real pair and analyse them. Go back to your notes on Jessie J or The Arctic Monkeys if you like.
