Finished Magazine Advert
This is our finished magazine advert for our A2 media project. In order for the photo to fit onto blogger we had to reduce the photos size and quality but a bit.

Final Audience Feedback (voice recording on the video with pictures)
This is the video we made to go along with the voice track we recorded when asking people the 7 question on our audience feedback list that we made. This has helped us to gain an amazing understanding of our final coursework and what we did well compared to what was not so great and more importantly what we would do differently if we were to do something like this again.
the 7 questions were:
- What did you like about our music video?
- On a scale of 1-10, how effective is the pace of editing compared to the beat of the song?
- How effective is our use of costumes in the music video?
- How could we have improved our music video?
- Who do you think the target audience is for our music video?
- Do you think the combination of the music video, magazine advert and digipak presents our band with a unique image?
- If you saw the magazine advert and digipak together, would you think that they are for the same album and artist?
What we learned from this;
From carrying out this audience feedback we have learned a lot of useful information that we can use in the future. Such as:
- The digipak should stay black and white
- the editing was done very very well, every new scene falls dead on the beat of the song perfectly.
- we portrayed the "fun montage" theme very well throughout the video
- the pace of editing was done very well in comparison to the beat of the song.
- our costumes contained a lot of creativity, although we did make some continuity errors in terms of alex's wardrobe in some scenes.
- to improve our music video we should focus more on mise-en-scene
- we should of used more locations
- we did very well at defining who our target audience were.
- The digipak, magazine advert and music video are blended together very well, they all relate closely and from this it is easy to tell that they are all for the same band.

Final Digipak Decision
We have finished the entire of our digipak, however we cannot decide whether we would like the digipak to be entirely black and white or partially black and white with the inside cover in colour. We have put both results on this blog, with the colour one being the first picture and the black and white one being the second picture. We plan to listen to audience feedback to help us to decide which one we should use as our final project.

What I Did on the Digipak Today
Today i decided to restart what we had on the back panel completely, as i was not happy with it and felt it could look a lot better than it did at that point in time. I started therefore completely from scratch. One of the main things i did differently this time around that made it easier to make as well as look tidier was that i added on the background border first as oppose to doing it last. This meant there was no guess work as to were the pictures would fit in. I also completely scraped the idea of making two of the photos negative and instead imputed a lot of different more detailed photo editing, Such as HDR shadowing, contrast, brightness, exposure etc. The result was a lot better. Lastly, after imputing all the generic items that are on the back of album covers, such as barcodes, copyright marks etc. I was incredibly pleased with how professional it looked. Then all that was left was to make up the tracklist and then we were done.

Album Art Excercise
For this exercise we were required to select different details of a piece of album art by randomly selecting links from wikipedia and quote pages, this would gives us the random result of what our band name, album name and image would be and from this we are required to produce a rough album cover using photoshop to prepare us for the digipak creation.
The band name i received was:
The band name i received was:
Jean-Baptiste Berthelin
The album name would be:I intend to write it.
\And this is the image i was given to use:
After a lot of photo editing, colour correction, contrast adjustments, Colour highlights, shadow highlights, and HDR toning etc. I ended up with an image that i was proud to say looked a lot better than its original. Once i arrived with this image i used DaFont to find a suitable font for my ablum name that i wanted on the cover. I arrived with this.
I then used this font on the photo, positioned the text where i liked it and made suitable adjustments to the strength and boldness of the font.
Finally i arrived with my finished photo from this exercise:

Constructing The Digipak
The first panel of the digipak that we decided to work on is the back panel. For this we mimicked the 4 panel idea we retrieved from "No Doubts" album cover, but with the back of our heads for the back of the digipak.
I spent a long time trying to organise the colour correction and other editing techniques that would make the images look better as they began looking too bland for the digipaks theme.
This idea then evolved into something along the lines of this, we aded a rather thick border so as to match that of the front of the digipak which contains the same border but for the title of the album and band.

However this idea was later scrapped as we believe that we could do a better job of not only arranging the images better but, if we did the boarded first rather than last, it would make the image a lot easier to organise and therefore it would look a lot better as a final result.
This is the finished product of the back panel. the final changes that we decided to add to it because as you recall we were not happy with the last back panel. Were that we made the border the same size as that on the front panel, removed the inverted colours on me and alex, and put in more detailed photo editing, such as contrast, hdr shadowing etc.
All of this along with the added barcode and copyright standards make it look incredibly professional and for this reason we are very proud of it.
We then went on to producing the front of the digipak. Bearing in mind the idea from the "No Doubt" album cover that we are trying to re-create in our own style. We went on to edit the photos in this panel further to make them more distinguished as well as we also added the thick border that we were attempting on the back panel but this time with the band and album name across the border. Causing the finished front panel to look like this.
The last panel that we have been working on is the three inside panels. For these panels we had the idea to join them with images of the band and general montage scenes that are depicted throughout the course of the music video. We joined these photos up with borders and different spaces between the images, causing a shifty collage effect. We also edited the photos a great deal as we did not want them to be completely black and white but also agreed that full on colour did not look as great. As a result of this we spent a long time messing around with colour correction and HDR and contrast settings to end with this result of the finished inside panels.
